So I think that gym confidence is a difficult situation for all girls, especially when you are in the weights section! My gym is always packed full of men training with their friends, then there’s me with with my high ponytail and my pink nails, I defiantly look out of place, but why shouldn’t I get a great workout in just because that’s the “men’s section”.
The confidence to walk into the weights section and have a great workout is all in your mind. Here are my top tips:
1. Focus I completely focus on my workout and don’t pay any attention to what’s going on around me. Who cares if someone is staring, or someone thinks my form is bad, don’t let what others may think stop you from reaching your goals!
2. Cute Gym Wear It took a while for me to figure out what clothing was best for me in the gym, I like to wear tight skinny sport leggings and a loose vest, with a bright sports bra underneath. Simple, comfy and looks good so I feel confident!
3. Fake Tan I fake tan about once a week, obviously I cant have a golden glow every time I’m in the gym, but it sure helps when I do. Tan makes your muscles pop, and for me it hides the redness I get when I workout!
2. Plan I never go into the gym without my programme, you run the risk of looking like a lost sheep when you can’t decide what to do! This all goes back to focus, get there, get the workout done, and get out - one step closer to your goal!…
